Introducing the Sneaker
19th July, 2018After sampling products for Nike more than five years ago, we decided to begin development of our own Sneaker program. During that time we've sourced new machinery and materials, while constantly tweaking samples and experimenting with new techniques. Made in-house at our Victoria factory, this is the only sneaker currently manufactured entirely in Canada. We've applied our expertise and uncompromising approach to sourcing to create what we feel is the highest quality product possible.
During the development process we looked for opportunities to combine traditional materials from our Welted and Stitchdown footwear with modern construction methods and components. We've chosen full-grain, vegetable tanned leathers from Italy for the uppers and durable, performance driven outsoles from Vibram. All of our Sneakers are built on the same heavyweight leather insole as our shoes and boots, providing a supportive fit that will improve with wear. We developed a leather lined removable footbed and sourced custom linen laces from Italy. Small design details like the floating heeltab and contrasting lacelock add a subtle sense of luxury to a silhouette that is otherwise inspired by classic athletic footwear from the 1980s and 90s.
